THE MAXWELL HAYWOOD SCHOLARSHIP & DEVELOPMENT FUND

​The Maxwell Haywood Scholarship and Development Fund (MHSD Fund) is established to remember the organization's founding Chairman, Maxwell "Iwaki" Haywood who served from the inception of the organization in 2010 until his untimely passing in November 2017. The fund will serve to remember Haywood's legacy of development work and to advance his vision for the Vincentian Diaspora and his homeland St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

This is a tribute to the late Maxwell Haywood, Founding Chairman of the SVG Diaspora Committee of New York Inc. The  Homegoing Celebration was held on December 15, 2017 at St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church in Brooklyn, New York.

SVG DIASPORA COMMITTEE OF NY CHAIRMAN, MAXWELL HAYWOOD honored posthumously AT VINCYCARES ANNUAL LUNCHEON

Just days before Chairman of the SVG Diaspora Committee of NY Inc., Maxwell Haywood, was set to be honored by Vincycares on December 3, 2017, he slipped away quietly after a seven month battle with illness. Haywood was among several other outstanding Vincentian sons and daughters to be honored by the organization. His wife, Sherrill-Ann Mason-Haywood, accompanied by her daughters, graciously accepted the award on his behalf. She noted in her acceptance speech that Haywood had penned a message from his hospital bed in which he noted his admiration for the work of Vincycares and provided suggestions for the way forward for the organization. Haywood died on November 29, 2017.
